Bars near the Beijing Auto Museum & Fengtai Science Park

Five very different bars sit within a 20-minute walk of the Beijing Auto Museum. Orange Bird 橘鸟 and V Lounge are right outside the museum (4 minutes) and both run live singers; Three Thousand Bar 三千客 (11 minutes) is a plant-filled craft-cocktail bar that works as a café by day; Attraction Bar 引力 is the neighbourhood's six-year-old old-timer; Snail 蜗牛 is a Texas hold'em bar with a young crowd. None of them needs a taxi.

Getting there

Beijing Auto Museum 北京汽车博物馆 — 126 South 4th Ring Road West, Fengtai; 9:00–17:00, last entry 16:30, closed Mondays except public holidays.
Metro Line 9 — Fengtai Science Park 丰台科技园 (Exit B) or Keyi Lu 科怡路 (Exit C, about 800 m on foot). Last trains from Fengtai Science Park: 23:47 toward Guogongzhuang, 22:42 toward National Library.
Bus — 740, 特9 or 运通115 to Yihai Huayuan South Gate 怡海花园南门; the museum is on the south side.
All five bars lie between the museum and Fengtai Science Park station, around Headquarters Base and Noble Center; the farthest is a 17-minute walk.

3. Three Thousand Bar三千客

Good forA quiet drink after the museum; a properly made cocktail; an afternoon coffee that turns into evening drinks without moving.

A relaxed, plant-filled cocktail bar, open since September 2024. The room is easy to recognise: a pitched timber ceiling and a backlit wall of triangular panels behind the bar. Books are everywhere, the menu is bound like a small book and every drink arrives with a little card. The back bar leans toward single malts — Macallan, Lagavulin, Balvenie, Hibiki and Yamazaki among them. From 9:30 to 18:00 it's a café (house special: Apple Guava Americano); at 18:00 it switches to cocktails, with three signatures: Three Thousand, Jiao (Sichuan peppercorn) and Shanzha (hawthorn). The name comes from a Tang-dynasty verse that hangs, brush-written, on the wall. No reservation, no minimum spend.

Good forA bar that's been here for years and has its regulars; blues on the speakers and big windows.

Open since September 2020 — the oldest of the five and the neighbourhood's established lounge bar, also the cheapest. Blues on the speakers, floor-to-ceiling windows, booths, the occasional film night. Second floor of Noble Center Phase 3, 12 minutes from the metro.

A bar built around Texas hold'em tables, open since June 2024 — industrial décor, surround sound, matches on the screen, a young crowd and a lot of regulars. At 17 minutes it's the farthest of the five from the museum, but still walkable.

How do I get there from the Auto Museum?

All five are walkable: Orange Bird and V Lounge 4 minutes, Three Thousand Bar 11, Attraction Bar 15, Snail 17 (measured on Amap).

And from the metro?

From Fengtai Science Park station (Line 9): Three Thousand Bar 5 minutes, Orange Bird 6, V Lounge 12, Attraction Bar 12, Snail 16.

How late are they open?

All five until 2:00. Orange Bird and V Lounge open at 17:30, Attraction Bar and Snail at 18:00; Three Thousand Bar is open from 9:30 as a café and switches to cocktails at 18:00.

Do I need a reservation?

Not at Three Thousand Bar, and there's no minimum spend. For the others, a phone call on weekends is a good idea; numbers are on Dianping.

Do these bars have English menus?

Three Thousand Bar has no English menu yet, but only three signatures (三千客 / 椒 / 山楂) — point at the Chinese names and you're set. The others are local bars; expect Chinese menus with pictures.

Can I pay with a foreign card?

Three Thousand Bar doesn't swipe foreign cards; WeChat Pay and Alipay work, and both let overseas visitors link an international card. Assume the same at the others.

When is the last metro?

From Fengtai Science Park (Line 9): 23:47 toward Guogongzhuang, 22:42 toward National Library. Late at night, most people take a taxi or Didi.

When does the museum close?

9:00–17:00 with last entry at 16:30; closed on Mondays except public holidays.
